Melanie Sanders is an accomplished journalist and communication specialist with more than two decades of experience.
An Emmy-nominated news journalist, she served as a news anchor and reporter for television stations across the country, including WNCN in Raleigh, New Orleans, Mobile, Dothan, and Panama City. During her tenure in broadcast, Melanie launched the popular “What’s Next” segment, featuring the latest innovators and technological advancements in the Raleigh/Durham region—segments that consistently ranked among the station’s most-viewed broadcasts. With a career spanning interviews with governors and celebrities, as well as coverage of events from natural disasters to state fairs, she brings a rare blend of experience and insight. This breadth of exposure has uniquely honed her ability to understand people’s needs with deep empathy. Her versatility not only showcases her adaptability but also her genuine commitment to telling human-centered stories that resonate with diverse audiences.
Melanie harnesses her storytelling expertise to design and lead executive leadership programs focused on building strong, effective workplace cultures. Her programs emphasize best practices that enhance communication, drive understanding, and support the development of leaders who value and appreciate different and unique perspectives.
She is also an Adjunct Professor in the Jenkins MBA Program at NC State University, where she instructs graduate students on business communications. Additionally, Melanie conducts media and workplace communications training for organizations across the U.S. and Europe, sharing her expertise in executive presence and effective communication.
A graduate of Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, Melanie is also a proud mom to two Gen Z sons. Her experience as a mother and educator gives her a unique perspective on generational diversity in the workplace. She believes the true magic happens when different voices come together, creating an environment where every perspective is valued and has a place at the table.
